Award-winning writer, broadcaster and journalist, Damian Barr, and expert art historian, curator and auctioneer, Alice Strang, will be talking about Damian’s beautifully researched and stunningly reimagined novel, The Two Roberts.Inspired by the real and wild lives of working-class Ayrshire boys, Bobby MacBryde and Robert Colquhoun, the novel tells the profoundly moving story of the devotion and obsessions of two artists, lovers and outsiders from their meeting at Glasgow School of Art in 1933 to wartime London.
This event will take place on Thursday 19th February at 7pm in our Reference Library and forms part of Edinburgh Libraries’ activities for National Year of Reading 2026.
